Cocoa Packet Analyzer: Network Protocol Analyzer for Mac
Cocoa Packet Analyzer is a Mac application developed in Cocoa, serving as a network protocol analyzer and packet sniffer. With the ability to conduct basic packet sniffing and filter packets using regular expressions, users can select the network interface for capturing and initiate the process with a simple 'Start' click. The captured sessions are stored in PCAP files, an industry-standard format for stream reading, capturing, and writing. To ensure comprehensive packet capture, enabling promiscuous mode is advised to capture all directed packets to other Mac addresses.
This analyzer supports a wide array of protocols including Ethertype ARP, IP (v4/v6), PPP, PPPoED/S, 802.1Q VLAN, Linktype, Loopback, PPP, IP-Protocol IP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, IGMP, L2TP, PPPoE Discovery, Sessionstages, PPP protocols (IP, LCP, IPCP, CCP, PAP, CHAP), L2TP, RADIUS, and SIP.
